Or maybe it’s not the end of the world! I was pretty bored at work.
The reason? I had lost my iPhone. I have no clue where it is. I’ve destroyed my house and I’ve destroyed my car looking for it. They both look like armageddon happened.
After my exhaustive search, on my day off no less, I went to the AT&T store to figure out my options. The person at the counter wasn’t very helpful. He said that I could purchase a new phone, but since I bought my phone January of 2009, my 18 month upgrade option isn’t available until June of 2010. EFFFFFFFFF. This means that to even purchase an older version of the iPhone (3G) I would have to come out of pocket $500. Screw that madness.
So I do the painful approach, like a druggie trying to kick heroine, and go cold turkey on the iPhone. Two painful days at work with not checking my twitter or facebook or playing my little cool diner dash game. I decided to head back to the AT&T store and talked to his cute little girl behind the counter named Veronica.
What we did was add a second line to my account which costs me $9.99. This way I get the rebate and picked up the phone for $199.
We agreed that I don’t use nearly as many minutes as my plan provides (450 out of 1400) so we cut me back to a $30 cheaper plan at 700 minutes. I had 6,000 rollover minutes. Pure win.
So all in all, me losing my phone was a blessing. I was willing to kick out cash anyway for the upgrades iPhone, but based off my plan I had to wait until June 2010 and I was able to reduce my monthly bill. Sometimes blessings come disgused, right?
On another note, anyone excited to see the new movie ‘2012′? I can tell you right now that the sheer physics is going to fail. The scenarios are going to be hookey, but all-in-all it’s going to be a fairly decent movie like ‘The Day After Tomorrow’. You can’t go wrong with John Cusak in my opinion.
